Well I have to admit that the party was a lot of fun the best time was after most people left and we could spend time with Tom and Sue some incredible story's were exchanged. We got a chance to meet Bram's new daughter and spend some time with other friends.
Well I just got a call from Tom and it looks like he will beat me to a transplant after all. He is currently heading to Cleveland to get a lung transplant they are able to drive and Tom sounded very excited. This is a very serious procedure and I would like everybody to pray for Tom and family that the out come is good and we continue to have our friend Tom with us. In case anyone isn't familiar with Toms story when we met him it was just after a recovery from an accident where he inhaled ammonia. We were at Michigan Tech and Tom could not walk 100 steps without stopping to rest I think he was 26 years old, he was married to Sue Butler who we went to school with. The time was around 10 years after we graduated from high school. It was an absolute shock that we met there and we became life long friends with many story's that we can tell but hopefully wont. When Tom had his 30th birthday party we spent half of the day cross country skiing now I remember 10 below zero and Sharen says it was only 10 degrees not sure who is right. With his lungs under control for a time his eyes started to go and was unable to work as a med tech so he became a physical therapist any way the point of the story is I have no memory of hearing Tom wine and complain about his luck or his situation he deals with each problem straight froward and takes the positive side. I admire Tom's ability to deal with adversity and I try to use him as an example of how to treat life's adversities. It is amazing that this transplant has waited until after his birthday party where he could spend time with friends and family. Again please ask God to have consideration for our good friend Tom and family. I will keep everyone informed about the progress.
Also continue to keep Sharen and myself in your prayers and may God bless.
